I have submitted the issue that the Quicktime 7 SDK installer package creates with respect to the initial Tiger bootstrap/install of Fink. I presume it would cause other issues as well. I verified last night that if I move the SDK installed file (/usr/include/ AvailabilityMacros.h) out of the way and rename the original saved "AvailabilityMacros.h.ori", Fink will install correctly. I did not test if installing the SDK first would prevent the issue. It may be that the SDK won't install unless XCode is already installed? It seems that some changes to AvailabilityMacros.h may be needed when the SDK is installed but what changes and on what OS versions is not clear to me. It may be this change I suggest here will break other things, or it may simply be that changes are only needed on 10.3.9 and the Tiger version is getting replaced by mistake? I'll report back what Apple tells me.
Status update:Apple says the QT7 version of AvailabilityMacros.h is correct and the changes are necessary for it to work correctly in 10.3. They have asked for the error from Fink and I have provided it.
