To confirm: on the same machine, the build of the same (any) variant of bluefish first succeeds, with pkgconfig-0.15.0-2 installed, next fails after updating pkgconfig.

Dan _ are users supposed to do something special (eg, rebuild things) to
adapt to pkgconfig-0.17.2-1  ?

I would guess it might be the update in pkgconfig which makes the difference here.
