Hi All,

I'm trying to install ettercap and dsniff (OSX: 10.4.1, Fink: 0.23.10) both of which fail on dependencies. Ettercap is asking for a later libnet than the Fink repositories hold and dsniff asks for libnids which Fink doesn't have.

I've downloaded the appropriate packages and installed them locally to /usr/local/lib, /usr/local/include

Can I get fink to scan the libraries and headers in these locations or is that just a bad idea? Alternately, can I link the installed packages to my Fink installation (/sw) and resolve the compile-time dependencies this way? If so, how would I go about doing such a thing? Or, am I barking up the wrong tree completely?

Thanks all :-)
Neil.
