Hi again, sorry for not posting it in one e-mail but I just thought about it: one solution that was suggested to me on the tex newsgroup for another problem is to ssh to a machine outside the firewall, if this machine has access to a http proxy, and use the -L option to ssh to be able to use this machine's proxy: quote: ssh machine.home-uni.fr -L 8000:wwwproxy.home-uni.fr:80 will open an ssh connection to machine.home-uni.fr and arrange things so that if you connect to port 8000 of your local machine, ssh actually routes that request via machine.home-uni.fr to wwwproxy.home-uni.fr port 80, and then the request will go via the wwwproxy to the actual site you are trying to reach. Then you can perhaps set your WWW browser to use localhost, port 8000 as HTTP proxy.
