These are in the FAQ: http://fink.sourceforge.net/faq/usage-fink.php#packages-gz I've been removing and re9installing it since then, and still get the original error message. That's because you're installing the same files over and over.  If there's a problem within the binary distribution, this method, unfortunately, won't cure it.  I've cc'ed the KDE maintainer (rather than the kxmleditor maintainer since the error appears to be from a library in kdebase3-shlibs.
