I have looked back, but the over two hours of compile messages is somewhat
overwhelming. And if I do find a reference to "etc" I'm not sure what to do

If you search the compile messages for the first occurrence
of "Error " (note the capital E and trailing space) I think
this will land you at the spot you need to investigate. If
not, try the next occurrence. You then look back through the
last full command above the "Error " to see what went wrong.
