The build took over 18 hrs on a G4 Dual 1.42, so this isn't for the impatient.  The impatient might want to download the OS X openoffice.org package installers from: http://ooo.lab-project.net/~ebachard/MacOSX/2.0/ It only has version m107 (the directory for m109 is there, but empty), but it is a nice installer, that puts openoffice.org beta 2 in your Applications directory.  It still uses X11, of course.
