Everything on my system is up to date (I run Software Update regularly). I even tried editing the libgnomeprintui2.2-2.10.2-1 .info file to change these environment variables; that also didn't work. I am now about to try another suggestion from one of these pages (edit the .info file to incorporate the patch script from vte's .info file) and see if that helps.
