Hi there,

I'm using tiger 10.4.2 with fink 0.8.0 package. Today
I wanted to switch to the unstable tree, and thus
fired "fink selfupdate-cvs". However, I got a very
strange error, the output is like this,

/usr/bin/su mac -c 'cvs
-d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/fink
login'
Logging in to
:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:2401/cvsroot/fink
CVS password:
Now downloading package descriptions...
/usr/bin/su mac -c 'cvs -q -z3
-d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/fink
checkout -d fink dists'
can't create temporary directory /tmp/cvs-serv12916
Read-only file system
### execution of /usr/bin/su failed, exit code 1
Failed: Downloading package descriptions from CVS
failed.

Of coz the first thing to check is the permissions.
However, I didn't find anything wrong there.

$ls -ld /tmp /private/tmp
drwxrwxrwx 8 root wheel 272 Jul 24 22:56
/private/tmp
lrwxr-xr-x   1 root  mac     12 Jul 24 22:02 /tmp ->
/private/tmp

So I shoudn't expect any problem checking out the
files.

Is this a known problem?

Regards,
Feng
