gnome-python2-py23-2.0.0-16 is quite broken on Tiger; there's a newer
version but the fink package maintainer has not had time to upgrade
for us. I took a look at it, but its compiling crashed even earlier
than this old-version's did for you...bug report filed with the
program's author. Apparently it compiles on 10.3 and you can use that
binary on 10.4 (it's a bug in the gnome-python2 compile script, which
IIRC is quiet messy in this version, not a problem with gnome-python2
itself). Just gotta find someone that has it.

"Somebody" in this case is the 10.3 binary distribution:
http://bindist.finkmirrors.net/bindist/dists/fink-0.7.2/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/gnome/gnome-python2-py23_2.0.0-16_darwin-powerpc.deb
Download that and use "sudo dpkg -i <filename>" to install it
