"fink configure" is what you want.

Ran the configure, still didn't fix it.

It seems that it is indeed something goofy with our upstream DNS. I connected via SSH to a host outside of our network, used wget to get the .gz file (without problem) from the packetfactory.net domain, then used Fugu to transfer it to my laptop and drop it into the /sw/src directory and Fink/Fink Commander had no problem buiding dsniff (and transferring libnids).

Weird...
