Both problems look to be fontconfig-related then.  It seems strange
that xterm got broken by this--see if reinstalling Apple's X11 fixes
that.


Oh man....
That completely fixed my problem not only with xterm but with all x- Apps. I'm glad I had a Tiger-DVD with me to reinstall that. Weird Problem - simple Solution. THANKS A LOT! :-)
