You don't have the variable
DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH set, perhaps?

No, I don't. What I don't get is why I'm affected, but (apparently?) not
everyone. Is there perhaps some cache involved? Anything else I could
try?

I don't know. To be honest, the last two times this came up, a week ago
on fink-beginners, for example, the question was not answered either.

OK :-)

I've got another Mac at work with almost identical setup and there everything is fine. Go figure. I tried about all of the environment variables in dyld(1), but haven't been able to figure out what exactly is going wrong.

If you run dpkg or dpkg-deb from the command line, is there an error, too?

Yes.

Thanks, Sebastian
