One month is a relatively short time for a project whose maintainers
work on packages in their spare time.

The prior version not being moved to stable is another matter--perhaps
there was bad (or no) feedback.  Maybe the maintainer was waiting for
the very fix you mentioned.

Check with the maintainer too, as they're more likely to have specific
knowledge about their package.
