I'm running xchat 2.4.4 in 10.3/unstable and can't connect anywhere. Upon startup, the following appears in the main xchat window:

AutoLoad failed for: /sw/lib/xchat/plugins/perl.so
 dlcompat: dyld: /sw/bin/xchat Undefined symbols:
/sw/lib/xchat/plugins/perl.so undefined reference to _XSRETURN_UV expected to be defined in a dynamic image

This version of xchat uses indeed a symbol that is not defined in the perl version 5.8.1 on Panther.

OTOH, I see the same error message and yet have no problem connecting.
What this bug probably means is that perl scripts for xchat will fail, but if you don't use any of those, it shouldn't matter.

If you really need the perl plugin, you could try installing perl586 and then rebuild xchat (no idea if this works, but it should eliminate this specific error).
