I have found another problem with a package, this time it is ispell
version 3.2.06-4. I quote the end of the installation process:

Ispell uses a syntax for the "tail" and "sort" commands that is no
longer understood by more recent versions of these commands such as
provided by the Fink textutils package. Try
fink remove textutils
fink install ispell
