Tiger comes with default/installed SMB tools. I am attempting an install of snort, from the fink packages, which asks me to install smb tools (client and server) for some virtual dependencies. I don't think I should have two sets of such tools, with possible version conflict, so I am asking on how to go about telling snort that I already have support for SMB?
You can't. But you can copy the snort.info file into your local tree and modify it: remove, for example, "samba" from the Depends line, and perhaps also "--enable-smbalerts" from the ConfigureParams line.
You might also discuss this question with the snort maintainer. -- Martin ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
