Hi - for anyone interested I posted a variant of gnotepad+ on the tracker.
why?

about 5 years ago my main workstation was running a linux distro with
Gnome 1.x (sorry I never liked KDE). when I upgraded to an ibook I was
lucky enough to find the Fink project. I was however unwilling to run
anything but the most basic wm.

While I had no problem integrating most key applications I was used to at
that time gnotepad simply did not make it in my arsenal due to the
dependencies present in the Fink package (due to Gnome support). I liked
it but could live without in other words.

Now that I understand (a tiny little bit more) the process of porting
packages I decided it was time to bring my old friend back to life. yes it
looks dated and yes there are much slicker apps out there but as a simple
html editor to run alongside an email client it's hard to beat.

Anyway this one has no Gnome support so will fit any gtk environment.

enjoy (or don't!).
