Hello, folks!

My Problem:

I've made a fresh install of fink because I had messed around inside / sw and "rm -r /sw" seemed the best choice (you see this is not a production system :-) ) ...

No I've recently updated to Mac OS X 10.4.4 from 10.3.9 and also installed all updates including XCode 2.2.1.
I missed the advise to avoid XCode 2.2 too.

Now I'm stuck with the following message when trying to build unstable packages because XCode won't let me downgrade farther than to it's version 2.2.0 Is there a way to get around this issue or do I have to stick to binary packages until the next version of fink is ready?

I want to thank the developers for your time working on this fine distribution and hope for patience with "Hot-Shot Users" like me ;-)

Greetings, Markus

Setting up fink (0.24.6-21) ...
Checking system... powerpc-apple-darwin8.4.0
Under Mac OS X 10.4.4, Fink must be bootstrapped or updated with gcc 4.0.0,
however, you currently have gcc 4.0.1 selected. To correct
this problem, run the command:

    sudo gcc_select 4.0

You may need to install a more recent version of the Developer Tools
(Apple's XCode) to be able to do so.
dpkg: error processing fink (--install):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 255
Errors were encountered while processing:
 fink
### execution of dpkg failed, exit code 1
Failed: can't install package fink-0.24.6-21
