Hi, Yes, I forgot to mention before that I had tried that and nothing showed up.  I have also tried using the '--debug x' option, which produces tons of output (the value of x doesn't seem to matter that much).  The first time I tried that, there were a lot of 'file not found' errors, because some things were apparently in the wrong locations.  I initially thought that this was the cause of the problem, so I fixed those problems in my ~/.Eterm directory (copied and modified from /sw/share/Eterm), but I still couldn't get an Escreen-themed window to stay up.
