[XML::Parser perl version matching discussion snipped]

Ranger has patched the intltool package so that it now passes its perl
executable name into the ./configure test that most packages are
using. That is, the test now knows to look for the actual perl that is
used, not first 'perl' in PATH. So if you have the standard perl
version for your OS X at /usr/bin/perl and have installed intltool >=
0.34.1-2, even having a different /usr/bin/perl (i.e., perl560) that
has no matching xml-parser-pmXXX package installed, you should no
longer get that spurious test failure.
