Yes, I did that in the process. After installing the SDK, I looked at
/usr/bin/ld and it was dated Mar 25 2005.
Yes, that's the right one. I don't know why this doesn't work; but then
I didn't understand why it *did* work for me and for the Apple guys.
Must have something to do with "umbrellas" or other obscure nextstep stuff.
In your log I see also a different error, a bus error. Do you get this
regularly, too?
