Just to report that I successfully built the latest OOo (2.0.2-101) while logged in as a non-admin user by using FinkCommander...it was not clear to me whether this would allow the required "console access", but it seems that it does.

Many thanks for all the excellent work!!

It's using, what, hdiutil? A workaround for cases like this is to, instead of "hdiutil foo", run /usr/libexec/StartupItemContext /usr/bin/hdiutil foo. "man StartupItemContext" explains what this does and why it's sometimes needed.

Thanks.
I tried:

$ cd /sw/src/fink.build/openoffice.org-2.0.2-%r/OOB680_m5/desktop/macosx/source

$ /usr/bin/osacompile -o ../../unxmacxp.pro/misc/OpenOffice.org.app -s main.applescript kCGErrorRangeCheck : Window Server communications from outside of session allowed for root and console user only INIT_Processeses(), could not establish the default connection to the WindowServer.
Abort trap

$ sudo /usr/bin/osacompile -o ../../unxmacxp.pro/misc/OpenOffice.org.app -s main.applescript 2006-03-27 13:10:41.894 osacompile[25116] CFLog (0): CFMessagePort: bootstrap_register(): failed 1100 (0x44c), port = 0x1f03, name = 'Processes-0.12976129'
See /usr/include/servers/bootstrap_defs.h for the error codes.
2006-03-27 13:10:41.895 osacompile[25116] CFLog (99): CFMessagePortCreateLocal(): failed to name Mach port (Processes-0.12976129)
CFMessagePortCreateLocal failed (name = Processes-0.12976129 error = 0)
Abort trap

$ sudo /usr/libexec/StartupItemContext /usr/bin/osacompile -o ../../unxmacxp.pro/misc/OpenOffice.org.app -s main.applescript
$

Great. I'll use it in the new .infos.
(well, which means that we can no longer build openoffice.org as nobody...)

Thanks,
