I've tried executing the "rebuild" and "reinstall" commands as well, but it
didn't help. Can anyone help me determine what is causing this error and
how to correct it?
You could try to run
fink purge postfix
fink install postfix

It appears that this file didn't get created in your .deb file for
some reason, but that the build process continued anyway.
Another possibility is that the file does exist in the deb file but
didn't get installed because it is a ConfFile.
What is weird here is that apparently postfix-2.2.9-1 was already
installed, but "fink install postfix" didn't just say "nothing to do"
but reinstalled it. I suspect that it was somehow partially installed.
ConfFiles don't get installed if they are already installed.
(We may have a case here where fink or rather dpkg manages to "forget" a
file, just as the Apple installer loves to do :-) ).
