I did. I've run through the permutations several times now: With X11 on Linux via SSH, everything works. With Apple X11: - Demo works. - Deleting the old database and letting kphotoalbum rebuild it works - Using the newly-rebuilt database works - Using the old database does not work. Building a new database is, of course, not a workable solution, since the new database has nothing in it but the photos and whatever information can be retrieved from EXIF and IPTC tags. The old database has all 8000 photos tagged with locations, events, people and keywords, plus rotation data and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. I still have one other thing to try. The version of kphotoalbum I just built on Fink is newer than the version I'm using on Linux, and the file format has changed slightly. Kphotoalbum can read the older format of course, and then saves the new database out with the new format. So the next step is to get the newer kphotoalbum on my Linux box, load the database, save it in the new format, and then try opening that on the iBook with Apple X11. What's really baffling me here, though, is how the X server could make a difference. Shawn. ------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
