Something must have gone wrong with your switch to 10.4. Did you use the 10.4-update script from the Fink homepage or did you do the switch by hand? In any case, your "Distribution:" in /sw/etc/fink.conf must now be 10.4, and /sw/fink/dists must be a symbolic link to 10.4.
