The message is correct, because the actual directory name is:
/sw/src/fink.build/povray-3.61-1002/povray-3.6.1
It was unclear to me if I could alter the .info file to fix this, but it seems like a trivial problem.  Does anyone have any ideas?

Replace in the "Source:" line "3.6.tar.bz2" by "3.6.1.tar.bz2".
This should fix the problem.
