Well, reinstalling xorg and xorg-shlibs didn't help. I get the same problems as before. In case anyone can figure this out, I'm attaching a tarball of configure files. Thanks for any suggestions.

p.s. Does anyone else have koffice installed on top of xorg? That might give me some clues as to the problem.

I have a sneaking suspicion your xorg didn't fully install, or else you'd have a -lX11 and such in that command-line.
What happens if you "fink reinstall xorg xorg-shlibs"? Does it spit out errors?
