Hello, Sorry that I cannot send this email as a reply of the original email of Lorenzo La Spada on on 24-august in order to keep the conversation sorted in the same thread, but I just signed up to this list, so I don't have the original message to reply to.
The thing is that I am having the same error as himself, my log also shows the following as what it looks like the main problem when compiling koffice. Error creating ./karbon/libkarboncommon.la. Exit status 1 I had to restart my computer, so I lost the rest of the log, but if somebody thinks that the complete thing would be useful, I can just type fink install koffice again, and get the same log. What is libkarboncommon.la? is it a dependency problem? In fact I should be posting this on the fink beginners list, since I am not a very advanced user, but I am posting here because this is the list where I found that message talking about the same error. I have selfupdated fink, as well my fink --version output is Package manager version: 0.24.26 Distribution version: 0.8.1.cvs powerpc I have the very latest developer tools from apple and I am using Tiger 10.4.7 on PPC, and funnily enough, I installed the whole KDE some time ago, and had to erase because of a system reinstall, and now when installing again, I get this problem. I made a search on google and Lorenzo was the only person I found with the same problem, so I am eager to know if it's a known issue, or some unexpected error. Anyways, I am sure that the maintainer will do an excellent job with it (by the way, I want to use this, my first email to the list, to congratulate Benjamin and the rest of maintainers for all the great work, and congratulate as well the bunch of people giving excellent support in this list. I have been some time reading it without signing up, and I must say that I solved a lot of problems reading the messages). Well, thank you for any kind of suggestion someone might be able to provide.
