This would be the imapd server--the client shouldn't matter until you actually want to read mail from it. I'd suspect that it hasn't been updated because the maintainer hasn't been doing Fink stuff in a while. I personally use the uw-imapd server that comes bundled in the pine package. -- Alexander K.
