I have just selfupdated a machine behind a web proxy, and I get the following when I try to run fink scanpackages:
/sw/bin/apt-get-lockwait -q update Err http://bindist.finkmirrors.net 10.4/release/main Packages Could not connect to 3128:80 (0.0.12.56). - connect (60 Operation timed out) Err http://quince.leeds.ac.uk stable/main Packages Could not connect to 3128:80 (0.0.12.56). - connect (60 Operation timed out) Note that it happens for both finkmirrors, and a local machine quince, which is reachable without using the web proxy. The error message suggests to me that something is getting parsed incorrectly. I think this worked before updating to the latest fink (which it will have grabbed from quince during the selfupdate): fink --version Package manager version: 0.25.0 Distribution version: 0.8.1.rsync powerpc i fink 0.25.0-31 The Fink package manager i fink-mirrors 0.25.0.1-1 Mirror infrastructure i fink-prebinding 0.7.1-1002 Tools for enabling prebinding in Fink In fink.conf I have ProxyHTTP: www-cache.leeds.ac.uk:3128 ProxyPassiveFTP: true # ProxyFTP: www-cache.leeds.ac.uk:3128 (I commented out the ftp line because that was the only change I made when I reran fink-configure to check the mirrors, so I was just checking it had nothing to do with the current problem...) It is also possible somethng that failed during the selfupdate is causing the problems. But I don't have the output from the selfupdate any longer...
