Yes, it seems that the bug fix for the version in unstable was applied 
to the version in stable without checking whether it works. It doesn't.

What you can do if you don't want to wait until this is sorted out (the 
newer version of mftrace will probably have to be pushed to stable, but 
this needs testing, too, to make sure that lilypond will still work), is 
the following:

Copy the file 
/sw/fink/dists/stable/main/finkinfo/text/ec-fonts-mftraced.info to your 
/sw/fink/dists/local/main/finkinfo folder and edit it.

Look for the line starting with "PatchScript" and remove it or comment 
it out, that is, put a "#" in front of it. To make sure that the 
corrected version of the file is taken into account, you should also 
raise the revision number: In the line starting with "Revision:", 
replace "2" by "2.0".

The package has another bug: During its build phase, it creates tfm 
files in /sw/var/lib/texmf/fonts/tfm/jknappen/ec/ which I don't think it 
should be allowed to do. But this doesn't stop it from working, I suspect.
