Hello, I've posted about this problem some time ago, and got a RTFM like remark so I started research again but with no result until today.
The fink docs don't tell anything about my problem, or if so, I didn't find the proper information I can't get my ibook's keyboard to work properly under X11 (using x.org at the moment). For example The Number 0 can only be entered via fn-M and I haven't been able to find an @-Character yet. But the bad thing is that keyboard shotrtcuts like Cmd-N don't work at all Some time ago I found a link explaining the keymapping mechanism and loading keymappings from file that I can't find anymore. I think I'm using a different google search pattern today. AFAIR the text mentioned that there are special problems with the keyboards Apple's Notebooks one can resolve by loading the proper keymap from a file. I tried to do so (Deutsch.keymapping) but no change. I've checked the keyboard settings in KDE, but the seem to be correct. Trying other settings also didn't help so I reverted to the default. My system: -iBook G4 12" - Mac OS X 10.4.8 - Package manager version: 0.25.0 - Distribution version: 0.8.1.rsync powerpc - i xorg 6.8.2-1041 Free X11 implementation - i xorg-shlibs 6.8.2-1041 Free X11 implementation - i kdebase3 3.5.4-1022 KDE - base system - i kde-i18n-german 3.5.4-1021 KDE - language files for German I hope there is a way to get around this other than hooking up an ugly PCs USB keyboard to my ibook :-) Can anyone walk through this issue with me?
