Dear Experts,

a 'which mozilla' returns nothing.
Also a search using find does not find any hint to an executable.
Earlier today I have tried to install mozilla from source but the
launching of the executable failed with an 'illegal-instruction'.
But that's more or less ok since on the corresponding webpage it is
said that mozilla is not present in stable/unstable cvs/rsynch
I am using
roman-poeschls-computer:/sw/fink root# fink -V
Package manager version: 0.25.2

On the webpage http://pdb.finkproject.org/pdb/package.php/mozilla
however only 1.7.5-1102 is announced as mozilla version for intel
and obiously I try to download ...1106 . Maybe this is the problem.
I would be grateful for help.
All the best,

Hi Alexander,
thank you very much for your elucidating answer.
I am pretty sure that I use the fink version 0.8.1 for intel. I have
downloaded and installed it yesterday evening.
It looks as if a few hours ago there has been a slight bug or short
coming in the packet description. I have updated fink and now it looks like
roman-poeschls-computer:~ poeschl$ fink -V
Package manager version: 0.26.0
Distribution version: 0.8.1.rsync i386

I believe that the 'i386' tells me that I have a proper fink package for
an intel mac.
... and now indeed
roman-poeschls-computer:~ poeschl$ fink --use-binary-dist install
Password:
Information about 5705 packages read in 1 seconds.
No packages to install.
roman-poeschls-computer:~ poeschl$
Anyway, mozilla doesn't work that's a fact ...
Can you recommed a mail client which works via fink for an intel mac?
Usually, I use 'thunderbird' on my linux machine but it is not yet
available via fink. l will give kmail a try.
Thanks a lot for your help.
Cheers,
Roman
1) mozilla doesn't work at all on Intel macs
2) your Fink setup hasn't been updated to reflect that fact--what
you've shown above is a mozilla built from source on your machine,
rather than downloaded from the binary distribution. The fact that
your machine sees a version at all to build from source indicates that
you aren't using the current package description.
-and-
3) The non-working mozilla-1.7.5-1102 hasn't been pulled from the
binary distribution for Intel machines.
