Thanks Alexander, Yes, I have been building boost from source for linux and windows. I am a new mac user (convertee). A friend turned my on to fink. I was a little surprised to see that dependency.
I don't use boost.python much so I normally build boost without it. Is there a way to prevent python from being added to the package?
