They certainly aren't _runtime_ dependencies, according to the
dependency tree from apt-cache, but, on a clean environment, I get:

The following package will be rebuilt:
 imagemagick
The following 47 additional packages will be installed:
 atk1-shlibs bzip2-dev dbus-shlibs gconf2-shlibs ghostscript
ghostscript-fonts
 glib-shlibs glib2-shlibs gnome-base gnome-mime-data gnome-vfs2-ssl-shlibs
 gnome-vfs2-unified-shlibs gtk+2-shlibs lcms lcms-shlibs libart2-shlibs
 libbonobo2-shlibs libcroco3-shlibs libdjvulibre15-dev libdjvulibre15-shlibs
 libgsf-shlibs libhowl-shlibs libiconv-dev libidl2-shlibs libjpeg
libjpeg-bin
 libjpeg-shlibs libpng3 libpng3-shlibs librsvg2 librsvg2-shlibs libtiff
 libtiff-bin libtiff-shlibs libxml2 libxml2-bin libxml2-shlibs orbit2-shlibs
 pango1-xft2-dev pango1-xft2-shlibs pkgconfig popt-shlibs readline5-shlibs
 shared-mime-info xdg-base xorg xorg-shlibs

(binaries used whenever available at Todai, locally, or in the official
binary distro). For a lark:

The following package will be rebuilt:
 imagemagick-nox
The following 47 additional packages will be installed:
 atk1-shlibs bzip2-dev dbus-shlibs gconf2-shlibs ghostscript-fonts
 ghostscript-nox glib-shlibs glib2-shlibs gnome-base gnome-mime-data
 gnome-vfs2-ssl-shlibs gnome-vfs2-unified-shlibs gtk+2-shlibs lcms
lcms-shlibs
 libart2-shlibs libbonobo2-shlibs libcroco3-shlibs libdjvulibre15-dev
 libdjvulibre15-shlibs libgsf-shlibs libhowl-shlibs libiconv-dev
libidl2-shlibs
 libjpeg libjpeg-bin libjpeg-shlibs libpng3 libpng3-shlibs librsvg2
 librsvg2-shlibs libtiff libtiff-bin libtiff-shlibs libxml2 libxml2-bin
 libxml2-shlibs orbit2-shlibs pango1-xft2-dev pango1-xft2-shlibs pkgconfig
 popt-shlibs readline5-shlibs shared-mime-info xdg-base xorg xorg-shlibs

I'll cc the maintainer. The upshot as things stand is that you can
remove all of the GNOME stuff after ImageMagick is built, but that's not
very satisfying.
