This should get you a working gnucash. For other folks doing a new install, they're likely to be stalled at the orbit2 problem until that gets resolved by either upstream orbit, or fink using your patch. I think the fink gnome people are hoping upstream responds because the consensus is that the orbit code is broken. (not just a mac specific problem that fink must work around.)
