This depends on which version of Mac OSX you are running:

a) Mac OSX 10.0, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3 -> no gcc42 available, update your 
system to 10.4 or 10.5

b) Mac OSX 10.4 or 10.5 -> gcc42 is available, update your Fink 
installation. Make sure that you have "Distribution: 10.4" or "10.5" in 
your /sw/etc/fink.conf and not "10.4-transitional".
