Did I miss something? I do this all the time, all that is removed are
the debs. Fink continues to run just fine.

A couple of useful suggestions for freeing up space:

1. If you have another box on the network with more space available,
why not put all your .deb files there? You can set things up so apt
and fink will automatically grab the debs via http when they're
needed.

2. I wrote a little Cocoa app for figuring out where all your disk
space went, it's basically a clone of KDE's filelight. You can
download it here if you'd like to try it out:
http://vasi.dyndns.org:3128/files/apps/Filelight-0.2pre2.zip . And a

</shameless plug>

Heh! Don't you know that will still leave all the data sitting on your
disk? If you *really* want to clear out space, you need 'sudo diskutil
zeroDisk /'  ;-)

(NOTE to the humor impaired: That's a joke, DON'T do it.)

Cheers,
Dave
