so now, most of the package installs I try fail with this error:

dpkg: parse error, in file `/sw/var/lib/dpkg/status' near line 1126 package 
`fink-buildlock-openldap23-2.3.27-10':
  missing version
### execution of /sw/bin/dpkg-lockwait failed, exit code 2
Failed: buildlock failure
