As we state in the FAQ (for the context of 'mv' rather than 'rm'),
errors involving a missing file generally are due to something that
happened earlier in the build, so there isn't any real way to
diagnose it with the output given. You'll need to look earlier in
your output to see where an error occurred.
I had searched in the FAQ, but I founded nothing corresponding to
the failure message in the output: nothing earlier about a "dir.old".
Right. That's a specific failure message, rather than the general
condition of a missing file.
I put the output here:
http://idisk.mac.com/fgiron/Public/Terminal.txt
I saw the following lines that were suspicious:
checking for install-info... /usr/local/texlive/2007/bin/powerpc-
darwin/install-info
checking for install-info... (cached) /usr/local/texlive/2007/bin/
powerpc-darwin/install-info
checking for install-info... (cached) /usr/local/texlive/2007/bin/
powerpc-darwin/install-info
It's essentially impossible to make the build tools *not* look in /usr/
local, so try moving it out of the way temporarily.
