Is there a numpy tracker item (or trouble ticket, or whatever they call it:) where we can watch and test progress on getting it fixed. Fink only has numpy-pyXX (via "scipy-core-pyXX") 1.1.1 right now, and it does appear to pass its self-tests. Maybe they've only more recently added tests that expose the python2.6 incompatibility.
