I don't know. I am not aware of having installed anything like that 
outside of fink, so I assumed I installed it via fink.
I am in the process of an extensive update (selfupdate, update-all), after 
not having updated anything for a while. That's when I got stuck with the 
openmotif3 compilation problem. Other packages which do not depend on 
openmotif3 update fine.
