On Leopard, having installed python, cairo & pycairo all through fink
(latest versions as of today), pycairo fails to work in the following
way:

Python 2.5.4 (r254:67916, Apr 17 2009, 15:08:56)
[GCC 4.0.1 (Apple Inc. build 5484)] on darwin
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
 >>> import cairo
Traceback (most recent call last):
   File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
   File "/sw/lib/python2.5/site-packages/cairo/__init__.py", line 1,
in <module>
     from _cairo import *
ImportError: dlopen(/sw/lib/python2.5/site-packages/cairo/_cairo.so,
2): Symbol not found: _iconv
   Referenced from: /usr/X11/lib/libfontconfig.1.dylib
   Expected in: /sw/lib/libiconv.2.dylib

I've tried rebuilding both cairo and pycairo manually, but to no
effect. Neither of them seem to involve libiconv directly.

Presumably the problem is that something somewhere is using the wrong
version of libiconv.

Any ideas?

Toby
