I'm using 2.3.3.2 on this MacBook Air, 2.4.0 beta on the MacPro I rebuilt everything on, and 2.3.1 on the ppc G5 MacPro where the latest version also doesn't work. The G4 powerbook where the old version works is also running the 2.4.0 beta. I guess that doesn't help much apart from suggesting it probably isn't X11 version related :( There is nothing else useful in the Console log. I first noticed the problem back in May, several X11 versions ago, while I was away, and I only just found time to try rebuilding to see whether that fixed it.
