Last night I ran a 'fink purge svn-shlibs' and then an 'fink update-all'.
Everything worked.

Since I did a fresh install on 10.6 and don't remember using the output of my
old install's 'dpkg --get-selections' to jump start things, I don't know how
svn-shlibs was installed.  Except that I was using stable before yesterday's
move to unstable.
