Hi,

one question regarding the build of fink packages from the sources. I'm
installing some packages with a long list of dependencies. Building the
packages the process didn't run smooth because some packages need e.g.
automake1.10 other automake1.11 or db44 other db47. I even found
somewhere libjpeg and libjpeg8 ... which are all available and buildable
but it is annoying to see that fresh compiled packages have to be
deinstalled "in favour" of another probably older one ... My question is
now, is there anybody who looks over the old packages to see if they
compile with newer versions of these tools an libraries to get rid of
the old stuff ? I know that in linux-distribution the deveolpers
adjusting the packages to depend only on the newest version ...

Cheers,
     Oliver
