gcc-4.2 is available on Xcode 3.1 and later  for 10.5 (we recommend
3.1.4).  You can still get that from connect.apple.com

Using Fink's gcc-4.2 is the wrong thing to do.  The maintainer should
stipulate an Xcode version dependency if he wants Xcode's gcc-4.2 to be
used in the build.

Get rid of those symlinks as soon as you can, because they are going to
break other builds.
