I thought I'd try to see if unison 2.40.16 would build
without modifications, based on the 2.32.52 fink.info file
(which has the gtk2 interface but not the aqua one).
It does build, but only by downgrading ocaml to 3.11.1-3.
With 3.11.2-1 installed, I got the following error:

this appears to be an issue between ocaml and lablgtk2,
which is why I'm reporting it...in case it is useful input
for solving any other problems that might come up.
This is on 10.6.3 with everything else up to date and
i686-apple-darwin10-gcc-4.2.1 (GCC) 4.2.1 (Apple Inc. build
5646) (dot 1). The "nox" version builds without problem on
10.5.8 server (ppc).
Unison 2.40.16 has quite a lot of mac related bug fixes, so
it might be worth seeing whether the aqua interface now
builds under fink (I don't know how to modify the info file
to try, and prefer the gtk2 interface anyway). However, I
can't actually use 2.40.16 myself because it has lost the
option to allow case sensitive file syncing on macs. I'm
taking this to the unison-users mailing list (hopefully,
when I get through the layers of yahoo group errors).
