(it's often helpful to include whether you're on a 32-bit or 64-bit Fink
installation, as well as your Xcode version--in this case, however it
doesn't matter)

Same error here on 10.5.8/i386, with Xcode 3.1.4 and Xquartz 2.5.2.

trans_alpha doesn't seem to exist in png.h from Fink's libpng3, but does
in /usr/X11/include/png.h on my system (which corresponds to libpng14:

$ ls -l /usr/X11/include/png.h
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 14 2010-07-21 10:52 /usr/X11/include/png.h ->
libpng14/png.h
)

I'm not sure whether the package should depend on libpng14 instead of
libpng3 or if it needs some flag magic to ensure picking up Fink's
libpng rather than X11's, so I'll cc the maintainer.
